How Do You Eat Out Alkaline?

Judging from your answers, you often leave restaurants feeling extremely bloated and filled to the brim. Digestion is probably difficult for you (and those around you!), and you have already popped half a package of antacid before you’ve even arrived home! Although you really enjoy the experience of eating, what follows is not so pleasant.
If your diet is rich in meat (especially red), dairy and white bread then you have an acidic diet. This leads to all kinds of common symptoms you thought you just had to “live with” (gas, bloating, diets that never seem to work, indigestion, fatigue...sound familiar?). You probably already knew that your diet wasn’t so healthy for other reasons (high cholesterol and saturated fat), but did you know that a highly acidic diet can also lead to weak bones, brittle hair, sallow skin and premature aging? There you go; yet another reason to pay more attention to what you put in your body!
Maintaining a healthy PH level does not mean eating bland food, nor does it mean refusing invitations to dine out! Even making small and very simple changes, such as eating a higher proportion of vegetables and fruit, and drinking lemon water, can make a big impact. Judging from your answers, you probably often leave restaurants feeling sluggish, uncomfortably full, bloated and ready to just lie down and sleep off your meal. You may be confused as to why, if you didn’t over-eat (at least not that much!), and you thought that you were choosing healthier options on the menu, such as lighter white meats or fish, and sides of vegetables like asparagus. So why do you feel like you were at an all-you-can-eat buffet?
The reason for this is that your meal was too acidic. When certain foods, even otherwise “healthy” foods are combined, you are creating an acidic mixture that will wreak havoc on your immune system, and cause all kinds of common symptoms you thought you just had to “live with” (gas, bloating, diets that never seem to work, indigestion, fatigue...sound familiar?).
Here you were, ordering from the light menu and getting that “light” chicken wrap and diet soda because you thought it was the healthiest choice!
Fortunately, it’s easy enough to remedy this problem, when you know which foods are alkaline. A fresh avocado and tomato salad with a spicy roasted pumpkin soup with sesame seeds is a mouth-watering and gourmet meal that is also very alkaline. You can also balance out your meal by ordering raw, fresh fruits or steamed veggies as an appetizer (or for desert!). Ask for water with fresh lemon instead of sparkling water or even fruit juice. You can also try raw date squares and green tea instead of coffee and biscotti and save your system from unnecessary acidity.
